Game 5 was big. So was Atanasio Balbuena.

The Irondequoit starter rose to the occasion at Buffalo Silo, leading the Peach Kings to a crucial 3-0 victory over the Buffalo Hopper Boys. Balbuena threw 9.0 innings of shutout ball as the Peach Kings won on the road to seize a 3-2 lead in the best-of-7 Pennant Series.

Balbuena went the distance for Irondequoit. He allowed no runs on 6 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 2.

"It was a tough night at the plate," said Buffalo manager Tom Poorman.

Game 6 is scheduled for Sunday at Fairweather Park in Irondequoit.
