Voyageurs Use Extras to Top Joes, Lead IS 2-1
The Grand Marais Voyageurs went into extra innings against the Saginaw Joes but ultimately moved to within one game of the Pennant Series.

The Voyageurs downed the Joes at Old Growth Forest by a score of 4-3. Even as his squad took the loss, Saginaw left-hander Pedro Olave threw 12.0 innings of 8-hit ball. The win gives the Voyageurs a 2-1 advantage in the best-of-5 Interleague Series.

Grand Marais used the timely hitting of Isidro Gómez to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 12th inning to put the Voyageurs on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"Always feels extra good winning this kind of game," said Gómez.

Game 4 is scheduled for Wednesday at Old Growth Forest in Saginaw.
