Lobos Take Home 4-1 Win Over Maunabo
|
Arecibo starter Roano Tapia put a stranglehold on the Maunabo offense. The left-hander had complete command of his curveball in leading the Lobos to a 4-1 win. Tapia, now 7-1, was the winner. In 9 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 3, walking 2, and allowing 1 run. Arecibo occupies third place in the Liga Betances Norte at 22-30.
Arecibo used the clutch hitting of Seosamh Blake to capture the win. The second baseman drilled a run-scoring double in the top of the sixth inning to give the Lobos the lead, 3-1. For the game, Blake had 2 singles and 1 double in 5 at-bats.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Arecibo skipper Israel Brito.
