Red-Hot Pérez Scorches Insolentes
After a 5-hit effort to lead Cayey's 10-3 victory over the Fajardo Insolentes, second baseman Aldo Pérez told BNN beat writers it had been "a special day."

"It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college, two hits in a game is nice," he said. "Three or four is better, but five or more is out of sight. And to do that at the Liga Nacional Puertorriquena-level is really something special."

The 22-year-old player earned his accolades at Estadio de los Insolentes with a spectacular 5-for-6 game against the Insolentes.

"His swing is getting there," said Cornupetas skipper Getulio Palomares, who spoke glowingly of Pérez after the game. "We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Aldo did that to perfection."

Aldo Pérez singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, grounded out in the 5th, doubled in the 7th and tripled in the 9th.

So far this year, Pérez is batting .280 with no home runs, 13 RBIs and 24 runs scored.
