Coliseo Municipal de Gurabo was the site for Liga Hostos action featuring the Gurabo Tainos and Caguas Coquis.
The Caguas Coquis trumped the Gurabo Tainos, 8-3, at Coliseo Municipal de Gurabo. Caguas first baseman Jacinto Cruz was terrific. He went 3-4 with a double and 2 singles. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2. Picking up the win was Ademar Soto. He went 8.1 innings, allowing 3 runs on 9 hits. The right--hander struck out 3 and walked 1.
Enrique Merino, the Caguas second baseman, contributed a 2-run single in the top of the fifth inning to make the score 5-2, Coquis. For the game, Merino went 3 for 5 with 3 singles. He drove in 3 runs.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Cruz. "And not try to do too much."
At 21-27, Caguas is in third place in the Liga Hostos Valle del Turabo.
