A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Moca Comefuegos and Mayaguez Alfereces.

The Moca Comefuegos pinned a convincing loss on the Mayaguez Alfereces, 13-3, at Parquecito de Mayagüez. Noé González was a main factor in the win. He slugged 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice for Moca. Esdras Otero, the winning pitcher, is now 8-11. He went 9 innings, allowing 3 runs on 8 hits, while fanning 7 and walking 5.

Moca used the clutch hitting of Lino Gómez to capture the win. The catcher drilled a bases-clearing double in the top of the eighth inning to give the Comefuegos the lead, 6-3. For the game, Gómez had 1 single and 2 doubles in 5 at-bats.

"Nice to keep our winning streak intact," said Gómez.

The Comefuegos, at 45-49, sit in 9th place in the Liga Mariana Bracetti División Manuel Corchado y Juarbe.
