Corsos Lose as Colmillos Stage Late Rally
|
In a low-scoring contest between the Aguadilla Colmillos and the Yauco Corsos, Esteban Flores, who is tied for 4th in the LB in innings pitched with 123.0, proved to be the difference. The Aguadilla right-hander earned props for his performance in the 3-1 Colmillos win. Aguadilla sits in second place in the Liga Betances Noroeste at 22-27.
The game was at a stalemate until right fielder Paul Slater came to bat in the top of the eighth. Facing Yauco pitcher Ian Maguire, he hit a 0-1 sinker for a 2-run single. It was a game-changer, putting Aguadilla on top, 3-1.
"The fact of the matter is that we had a shot to win," said losing manager Tito Sandoval.
