Carlos, Behiques Too Much for Ruidosos
|
The Orocovis Behiques and Caguas Ruidosos played an entertaining game for Parquecito de Orocovis patrons.
The Orocovis Behiques topped the Caguas Ruidosos, 5-4, the lion's share of the credit going to right fielder Julio Carlos. On the day, Carlos hit 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice for the Behiques. Gumersindo Gómez claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on 3 hits in 5.2 innings. His record stands at 5-0.
Carlos had a timely hit for Orocovis in the bottom of the seventh. With Orocovis trailing 4-3, he turned a 1-0 fastball into a 2-run home run. It was his 9th home run of the season, making it 5-4, Orocovis.
"It's always a heck of a lot easier to get to sleep after a win," Carlos told the Orocovis Times. "I know I'll rest easy tonight."
With the win, the Behiques have a record of 52-39.
