The Vega Alta Lirios and Bayamon Herradones rewarded fans hoping for a nail-biter.

The Vega Alta Lirios took Marco Treviño's best shot and still were able to collect a win at Parquecito de Vega Alta. The final score had Vega Alta getting past the Herradones, 4-3, in 11 innings. Treviño over 10.2 innings allowed 4 runs on 7 hits, while striking out 3. Santiago Ávalos, now 5-12, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 2 hits in 3 innings.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 11th inning, when Vega Alta shortstop Zeferino Salcido, facing Marco Treviño, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Lirios the 4-3 win.

"The game of baseball will test you," said Tácito López, the Vega Alta skipper. "This one tested us."

With the win, the Lirios improved to 34-57.
