Banqueros Suffer 2-0 Loss to Guayama
|
Parquecito de Guayama hosted an old-fashioned pitchers' duel.
Guayama Aprendices starter Príamo Díaz was dealing. He helped his team knock off the Villalba Banqueros, 2-0. Díaz picked up the win for Guayama, going 7.1 innings. He gave up no runs on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 4-0. The save went to Ernesto Betancourt, number 9 for him.
Jeremy Tite was 1 for 4, while adding 2 RBI for Guayama. The 22-year old catcher had a key at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Jeremías Garza. It was his 34th RBI of the season.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said Villalba skipper Zacarías Flores, "and it cost us."
Guayama is in 7th place in the Liga José Padilla División Carmen Bozello y Guzmán with a record of 43-45.
