Led by Santiago Placencia, the Aguada Catecumenes downed the Mayaguez Alfereces, 6-3. Placencia was 2-3 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 and driving in 2 for the Catecumenes. Acacio Velásquez picked up the win in relief. Jorge Rojas took the loss for Mayaguez. Juan Mendieta closed it out for Aguada, earning his 1st save.

Aguada took a 4-1 lead on Placencia's 5th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which he hit off Jorge Rojas in the top of the seventh, propelled Aguada to the win.

Mayaguez manager said after the game: "It seems like when our pitching is there our bats haven't been and then vice versa. Right now we're just waiting for it all to click."

The misery continues for the Alfereces, who have now dropped 11 in a row.
