Brumosos Suffer One-Run Loss at Salinas
Though he had a terrific game, Rubén Romero could not prevent his team, the Cayey Brumosos, from absorbing a loss. Salinas won the game, 5-4. Romero was 3-4 with a home run and a triple, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. José Reyes, credited with the win, is now 4-0. He allowed 4 runs on 9 hits in 9 innings. Salinas now has a record of 49-35 with the win.

Raúl Velásquez had a big run-scoring triple for the Olimpicos in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Salinas leading 4-1 and a runner on 3rd, he got a changeup from 22-year old right-handed pitcher Gilberto Moreira and swatted a triple to left-center. It was his 1st triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Olimpicos ahead, 5-1.

Salinas manager Benicio González was pleased with the team's effort. "Our guys played hard," he said.
