The Guaynabo Cazadores faced a tough opponent in San Juan pitcher Ross Fraser, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Parquecito de Guaynabo by a final score of 1-0 in 14 innings. Fraser went 12.2 innings and allowed no runs. The winner in relief was Urías Lomeli. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2.1 innings. He now owns a record of 4-6. The win makes Guaynabo 31-53.
The decisive blow was delivered by Merlin Horwood in the bottom of the 14th when he hit a run-scoring double off 20-year old left-handed pitcher Gareth Andrews to win the game for Guaynabo. The home crowd went nuts.
"It wasn't easy, but we got it done," said Horwood.
