Napoleonicos Use Late Surge to Win
Extra innings were needed to determine a winner at El Escombrón.

Led by Marco Torres, the Yauco Napoleonicos defeated the Lajas Fobianos, 9-5. Torres belted 2 home runs. He scored 3 runs and drove in 4 for the Napoleonicos. The winning pitcher was Agüeybaná Mendoza. He's now 7-11. He went 9 innings, allowing 5 runs on 10 hits for the Napoleonicos.

Yauco used a clutch hit from Mateo González to snatch the win. The second baseman belted a grand slam home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Napoleonicos ahead, 9-5. It was his only hit, but it was huge.

"Sometimes winning takes more than 27 outs," said Napoleonicos manager Príamo Zepeda.

Yauco is 33-48 and Lajas, with the loss, 47-36.
