Brumosos Handed 5-3 Loss by Limbers
|
Aibonito parlayed a decent outing from starter Albán Guerrero into a solid win over the Cayey Brumosos. The final score was 5-3. Guerrero got the win, improving to 10-6. He gave up 8 hits and walked 5 over 8 innings. He allowed 3 runs. Álvar Saldívar notched his 4th save in 7 chances.
Carmelo Olea had a big 3-run home run for the Limbers in the bottom of the first inning. With Aibonito leading 2-0 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he got a fastball from 22-year old right-handed pitcher Gilberto Moreira and swatted a home run to right. It was his 10th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Limbers ahead, 5-0.
"Big team win," Guerrero said later.
Aibonito is now 33-47. Cayey is 35-43.
