The game between Isabela and Adjuntas is in the books, despite a little rain.
Rafael García was outstanding against Adjuntas. The left-hander, who is a three-time All-Star, had a curveball that was virtually unhittable at times. The result was a Quesiteros 6-3 win. With the win, Isabela raised its record to 25-20.
García, who has sometimes raised the ire of coaches and teammates with his famously lackadaisical work ethic, turned in a spirited effort. The hurler struck out 9 in 7.1 innings and gave up 1 run.
García, who is on pace for 392 strikeouts this season, moves to 8-4 on the year with 105 strikeouts.
"Some of the guys in here work hard, some of the guys just kind of fall out of bed and get it done. Whatever works I guess, we won this one," García told the Isabela News.
