Pastelillos Get Clutch Win, 2-1
|
Parquecito de Cayey was the site of a true pitchers' duel.
Constancio Medina pitched a gem to lead Yabucoa to victory over the Cayey Brumosos, 2-1. Medina yielded 1 run over 7.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 3, and struck out 5. His record improves to 14-5.
Yabucoa used the clutch hitting of Marco Navarro to snag the win. The designated hitter drilled a solo home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Pastelillos ahead, 2-1. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a crucial one.
"Some games build character," said Yabucoa manager Rubén Reyes. "Like this one."
The win elevated the Pastelillos to 43-35.
