The Morovis Excepciones locked up a win at Parquecito de Aguas Buenas, knocking off the Aguas Buenas Testarudos, 5-2. On the mound for Morovis was right-hander Felipe Rivera. He played a major role in the triumph. After today's action, Morovis sits at 37-41; Aguas Buenas slips to 35-41.
Ismael Garcés, who is tied for 8th in the LJP with a .352 batting average, helped out the Morovis cause in the top of the seventh inning with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. For the game, the third baseman went 1-3.
"Felipe's focus was outstanding. The way he handled every moment -- when there was a little trouble, he didn't lose his tempo or his rhythm," said Morovis manager Armando Ordaz.
