Bayamon pitcher Pedro González was good. Really good. The right-hander, who is tied for 10th in the LMB in quality starts with 14, twirled a 3-hit shutout to beat the Toa Alta Sonetistas, 1-0. With the win, Bayamon has a record of 44-33. Toa Alta falls to 32-45.
Up to bat in the bottom of the ninth, Vicente Rentas wanted to seize the moment and deliver a clutch hit. Toa Alta pitcher Higinio Estrada had other ideas. He wanted to end the Bayamon rally. What happened next? With no outs, Rentas drew a walk, driving in 1 run -- and the Herradones erupted in celebration.
