Petisos Earn Late 5-4 Win
|
The Santa Isabel Petisos topped the Ponce Hidalgos, 5-4, in Liga Mariana Bracetti action at Parquecito de Santa Isabel. The standout performance belonged to Santa Isabel pitcher and Gurabo, Puerto Rico, native Acón Colón. Santa Isabel reliever Abdías Payán picked up the win. Aniceto Lara took the loss for Ponce. Santa Isabel is 9th in the Liga Mariana Bracetti División Lola Rodríguez de Tió with a record of 30-36.
Ildefonso González was the walk-off hero for Santa Isabel. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Petisos pinch hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"Acón commanded the zone from bottom to top," said Santa Isabel manager Clodovindo Chávez.
