Tranquilos Suffer 7-4 Home Loss
|
Though he had a terrific game, Adrián Navarro could not prevent his team, the Maunabo Tranquilos, from absorbing a loss. Villalba won the game, 7-4. Navarro went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Alcides Cruz, the winning pitcher, is now 2-2. He went 5.1 innings, allowing 3 runs on 8 hits, while fanning 5 and walking 1. The Banqueros win now puts them at 34-29.
It could have been a different outcome for Villalba, had it not been for Amelio Salazar, the 22-year old third baseman . Salazar contributed a 2-run home run in the top of the second inning to put Villalba up, 3-0.
"I'm just trying to make good contact," said Salazar, "one at-bat at a time."
