Chávez Goes Distance in Camuy Win
|
Camuy took on Rincon in front of a lively crowd.
The Camuy Ermitanos beat the Rincon Maquinistas, 6-1, at Parquecito de Camuy. Starting pitcher Ricardo Chávez was a big reason why. He held his opponent in check all game. Camuy, at 36-27, sits in 4th place in the Liga Mariana Bracetti División Manuel Corchado y Juarbe.
Chávez kept the Maquinistas under his thumb. He scattered 6 hits over 9 innings, while striking out 8. The left-hander upped his season record to 10-6.
"Ricardo was really on it," said Camuy manager Rubén Rodríguez. "He's got a feel for playing with the hitter front-to-back, side-to-side."
