The Jayuya Picachos withstood a fine game by Barranquitas catcher Delfín Herrera at Parquecito de Jayuya, to upend the Insignes, 8-6. Herrera went 2-2 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 runs. Baldomero Cortez, now 1-1, picked up the win in relief. He allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 3.1 innings. Picking up his 1st save was 22-year old right-handed pitcher Jorge Cantú.

Making an impact for Jayuya was first baseman Alberto Quintana. He drilled a run-scoring double off Edelmiro Campos in the bottom of the third. For the game, Quintana went 1 for 5 with a double.

"It wasn't our best performance," said Quintana, "but a win in this league is nothing to sniff at."
