Olimpicos Knock Off Quemados at Parquecito de Salinas
|
The Salinas Olimpicos downed the San Lorenzo Quemados, 7-3. The hitting star was shortstop Elton Patel. Patel was 2 for 4 with a home run, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3 for the Olimpicos. Ángel Medina earned the win for Salinas. He lasted 8.2 innings, allowing 3 runs on 9 hits, while striking out 4. With the win, he raised his record to 7-20. The Quemados have now dropped 5 straight.
Patel contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Salinas in the bottom of the second. With his team trailing 1-0, Patel took a fastball from Felipe Esparza and stroked the home run to right. His 2nd home run of the season allowed the Olimpicos to leap in front, 3-1.
