Alevines Get 7-3 Win Versus Aguada
|
The Aguadilla Alevines picked up a win at Parquecito de Aguadilla, knocking off the Aguada Catecumenes, 7-3. On the mound for Aguadilla was right-hander Gastón Esparza. He played a key role in the triumph. Esparza, now 8-6, was the winner. In 9 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 7, walking 1, and allowing 3 runs. The Alevines have now won 4 straight.
A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the bottom of the sixth, with the game tied, Thomas Murray was at the plate when Aguadilla scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Alevines to go in front, 3-2.
"Gastón executed his pitches at a high level," said Aguadilla manager Torcuato Ruiz.
