Though he had a stellar game, Byron Purchase could not prevent his team, the Jayuya Picachos, from losing, 8-6, to the Naranjito Predilectos. Purchase was 1-2 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 and driving in 3. The third-place Predilectos lifted their record to 39-30.

The result might have been different, had it not been for 22-year old second baseman Arsenio de la Cruz. de la Cruz had a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Predilectos ahead, 7-6. For the game, de la Cruz had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"It's nice to see a lot of guys make contributions," said Predilectos manager Crispín López.
