|
The San Sebastian Husares picked up a win at Parquecito de Rincón, topping the Rincon Maquinistas, 6-3. On the mound for San Sebastian was right-hander Vicente Peña. He played a principal role in the triumph. The 12th-place Maquinistas now sit at 22-36.
Antenor Peña had a big 2-run home run for the Husares in the top of the fourth inning. With San Sebastian leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a splitter from 22-year old left-handed pitcher Teófilo Viatoro and punished it. The result was his 4th home run of the season, which put the Husares on top, 3-0.
Peña attributed the win to his team's "focus and intensity."
