The Yauco Napoleonicos faced a tough opponent in Cabo Rojo pitcher Onesíforo Segura, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Parquecito de Cabo Rojo by a final score of 7-6. Segura went 5 innings and allowed no runs. Yauco pitcher Xyzzy Plugh earned the win, hiking his record to 4-12. René Gildo suffered the loss. The defeat makes Cabo Rojo 35-22.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Alarico Castellanos? The Yauco second baseman had a 2-run double in the top of the second inning to put the Napoleonicos on top, 4-1. For the game, Castellanos had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
Napoleonicos manager Príamo Zepeda wasn't all too pleased, despite the win, telling reporters that the performance highlighted some clear areas for improvement moving forward. He refused to be more specific, however. "I'm not gonna publicize our weaknesses," he said. "That stuff stays in the clubhouse."
