Claymores Topple Shipwrights, 9-5, as Ruiz Shines
The Edinburgh Claymores topped the Glasgow Shipwrights, 9-5, with third baseman Cristóbal Ruiz playing a big role. Ruiz was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once for the Claymores in the win. With the win, Edinburgh pushed its record to 67-57.

A critical at-bat came in the top of the eighth inning when the Claymores sent 20-year-old second baseman Eduardo Sierra to the plate with the bases loaded. The youngster shook off the pressure and hit a run-scoring single, to put Edinburgh on top, 4-2.

"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said Edinburgh skipper Gael Whalley.
