The rain came, as predicted, but the Inverness Thistles and Aberdeen Granite were able to complete their ballgame.

The Inverness Thistles beat the Aberdeen Granite, 5-3. Inverness pitcher and Glasgow, Scotland, native Matthew McKenzie led the way. The win gives Inverness a season record of 68-57.

Inverness used the hitting of Victor Mullins to pick up the win. The catcher clubbed a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Thistles on top, 4-3. For the game, Mullins had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"Matthew -- his tempo and rhythm were good," said Thistles manager Alfonso Flores. "He was the key to us winning."
