The rain could not dampen the enthusiasm of Inverness fans at Inverness Fields.

The Inverness Thistles picked up a win at Inverness Fields, knocking off the Glasgow Shipwrights, 4-3. Starting pitcher Lewis Mackenzie played a key role in the triumph. The third-place Thistles sport a record of 66-57.

A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the bottom of the eighth, with the game tied, Victor Mullins was at the plate when Inverness scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Thistles to go in front, 4-3.

"You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said Glasgow manager Polideuco Ocampo.
