With 4-1 Win, Talons Improve to 67-54
|
Sheffield took on London in front of a lively crowd.
The Sheffield Talons knocked off the London Fog, 4-1, in Baseball Federation of England & Wales action at Talons Grounds. Sheffield pitcher and Comerío, Puerto Rico, native Augusto Hernández had an outstanding performance. Hernández, who is tied for 6th in the BFE&W in innings pitched with 266.2, went the distance for Sheffield. He gave up 1 run on 7 hits.
With two out in the bottom of the fourth, Getulio Mejía put Sheffield in front, 3-1, with a run-scoring single. The Talons went on to win the ballgame.
"Can't say enough about our pitching," said Mejía.
Sheffield, now 67-54, holds down 4th place in the Baseball Federation of England & Wales English Baseball Championship.
