Conditions were not ideal but Inverness and Aberdeen were able to put their game in the books.

The Inverness Thistles stopped the Aberdeen Granite, 8-6, behind an impressive performance from Sotero Vega. The 24-year old shortstop made life miserable for Aberdeen pitching. He was 2 for 4 with a home run. He scored 2 runs and drove in 5. The save went to Felipe Ulibarri, his 7th this season.

Inverness grabbed the momentum in the bottom of the fifth, when Vega hit a 3-run home run off Alberto Trejo. His 7th home run of the season put the Thistles out in front, 7-4.

Inverness manager Alfonso Flores was pleased with the team's effort. "Our guys went out there and put good wood on the ball," he said.

Inverness, at 64-56, holds down second place in the Baseball Federation of Scotland & Ireland Lig Ball-steidhe na h-Alba.
