Marquette Hot Streak Continues with 6-2 Win
|
The winning streak continued for Marquette.
Peter Terry was locked in. The right-hander led the Marquette Smelters to a 6-2 win against the Superior Whalebacks at Edmund Fitzgerald Park. Terry went the distance for Marquette. He gave up 2 runs on 6 hits.
Marquette shortstop Grant Underhill contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the seventh. With two down, he hit a fastball to center field for a 2-run single. It was his 62nd hit of the season and put the Smelters ahead, 5-2.
"Young guys to old guys," said Underhill, "we're all going out there and doing what it takes to win."
The last-place Whalebacks have lost 4 consecutive games.
