The Traverse City Amarelles knocked off the Gary Blast Furnaces, 7-2, in Western Great Lakes Association action at Orchard Grounds. Traverse City pitcher and Lake Barrington, Illinois, native Jake Ricci had an outstanding performance. In 9 innings, Ricci surrendered 10 hits, while striking out 0 and walking 0. He allowed 2 runs.

Micah James was vital to the Traverse City win. He went 2 for 4 with 2 singles and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the first with one out, James hit a 2-run single. It made the score 2-0, in favor of the Amarelles.
