Stewart, Maples Stop Commodores, 4-1
|
Wet weather did not postpone the Norwalk-Erie ballgame.
Norwalk turned a fine outing from starter Steve Stewart into a victory over the Erie Commodores at Syrup Park. The final score was 4-1. Norwalk is second in the Eastern Great Lakes Association League of Lake Erie with a record of 62-59.
Stewart, a native of Decatur, Illinois, was dealing all game. He kept Erie hitters off-balance, while giving the Maples 9 quality innings. Stewart threw 111 pitches, allowing 5 hits and striking out 3.
"It makes it a little nicer in the clubhouse when we win," said Stewart. "It eases the tension."
