Pol Brennan led the Erie Commodores to a shutout victory, 1-0, over the Norwalk Maples at Erie Naval Yards.

"My pitching coach told me before the game just to bear down and focus," Brennan recalled later. "He said no one was going to hit me if I'm throwing a good breaking ball with good location."

Brennan yielded 4 hits and had 1 strikeout and no walks in the standout performance.

"I thought he put the ball where he wanted to," Norwalk manager Dagoberto Jaso said. "And that's just about the whole secret to pitching."

This season, Brennan has compiled a 13-15 mark with a 1.83 ERA in 30 starts.
