Mackinac Island Triumphs with Late Surge
Starting pitcher Ed Walsh pitched well enough to help the Mackinac Island Stone Skippers beat the Saginaw Joes, 6-3. Adam Browning earned the save for Mackinac Island, his 4th of the year. With the win, the Stone Skippers have a record of 48-60.

Mackinac Island used a timely hit from Joe Peters to get the win. The pinch hitter stroked a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Stone Skippers ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it made an impact.

"Getting the win feels nice," said Peters. "More importantly, I had a good game."
