Mackinac Island Beats Saginaw, 4-3
|
The Mackinac Island Stone Skippers and Saginaw Joes played an exciting game.
Mateo Regalado, who is tied for 6th in the WGLA in wins with 14, was locked in. The right-hander led the Mackinac Island Stone Skippers to a 4-3 win against the Saginaw Joes at Bouncy House. Regalado, now 14-7, was the winner. In 9 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 2, walking 0, and allowing 3 runs.
An inflection point occurred with one out in the bottom of the third. That's when Stone Skippers right fielder Édgar Salazar hit a fastball from Duarte Sánchez for a bases-clearing double. Just like that, Mackinac Island was up, 3-1.
"Obviously, you want to go out there and be good every time out," said Regalado. "I take the ball every day with the same mindset."
At 45-45, the Stone Skippers claim third place in the Western Great Lakes Association League of Lake Huron.
