Lilac Stockings Lose, 4-2, as Peach Kings Rally
|
Fairweather Park was the site for Eastern Great Lakes Association action featuring the Rochester Lilac Stockings and Irondequoit Peach Kings.
The Irondequoit Peach Kings got a good effort from starter John Alder in defeating the Rochester Lilac Stockings at Fairweather Park. The final score was 4-2. The Peach Kings now have a record of 43-33 with the win over Rochester.
Eumeo Grullón provided some late-game heroics for Irondequoit. In the bottom of the eighth inning, he hit a run-scoring single. It came on a first pitch slider from Josh Mecke and propelled Irondequoit to a 2-1 lead.
"This is a very good team," said Grullón. "We have the chance to do something special."
