Norwalk pitcher John Doran did his part in helping his team beat the Erie Commodores, 8-1. The left-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. Nicolás Esparza closed the game out for Norwalk, earning his 1st save. The Maples saw their record improve to 36-36.
Norwalk took the lead in the top of the sixth. With no one out and the bases loaded, Leovigildo Londoño stroked a run-scoring single to make it 2-1, Maples.
"They took it to us," said Erie manager Bobby Attwood.
