Guayanilla starter Pablo Mota kept the Ponce offense under clamps, while his team rolled to victory, 12-2. The 9th-place Tormentas bumped their record to 14-21.

The Tormentas got a big at-bat from right fielder Benedicto Velásquez, who in the bottom of the seventh hit a grand slam home run. It was his 7th home run of the season and put the Tormentas on top, 8-0.

"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Mota told a Guayanilla Herald reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."
