Vega Baja starter Polideuco Torres pitched well against the Vega Alta Lirios at Parquecito de Vega Alta. The right-hander led his team to a win, 6-5. Vega Baja, now 20-9, holds down first place in the Liga Mariana Bracetti División Arturo Schomburg.

Vega Baja used a clutch at-bat from Gabino Sánchez to capture the win. The right fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Dulzones ahead, 2-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"I didn't want to let them take the game from my hands," said Torres.
