Falmouth Shut Out, 1-0, By Gems, Corcoran
|
Larry Corcoran kept the opposition off the scoreboard and the Providence Gems were all smiles after winning, 1-0, against the Falmouth Submersibles at Submersibles Park. The right-handed Corcoran gave up no runs in his start, permitted 5 hits, and tallied 7 strikeouts.
"If there was a stat for 'team shutout,' this would be it," Corcoran said later. "My catcher called a great game, guys delivered at the plate and when I messed something up the guys behind me were where they needed to be."
To date this season, Corcoran is 19-12 with 31 starts and an ERA of 3.06 with 112 strikeouts in 268 innings.
