Soto Fires 2-0 Shutout for Newport
|
Jacinto Soto bent a little, but he didn't break against the Stamford Locksmiths. The Newport Pilot Whales pitcher hurled a 4-hit, 2-0 shutout in a fine performance, surrendering 2 walks and tallying 8 strikeouts.
"Jacinto is good at getting out of jams," Pilot Whales manager Pablo Morales told reporters after the game. "He's almost more effective when he gets guys on base or gets behind in the count, because he uses your aggressiveness against you."
For the year, Soto has a 14-15 record with a 1.98 ERA in 31 starts.
