Winchendon Earn 4-0 Victory at Stuart Park
|
The Winchendon Rocking Horses got a stellar performance from pitcher Rubén García, who handcuffed the New Haven offense en route to a win, 4-0, at Stuart Park. The winner was García. He threw 5.0 innings of shutout ball. The loser was George Meakim. George Wilson was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 2 of 2 save opportunities.
The Rocking Horses got a big at-bat from designated hitter Pablo Brizuela. For the game, Brizuela was 1-3 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the third, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 3rd home run of the season gave Winchendon a 2-0 lead.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Winchendon skipper Roberto Ortiz.
