Road Win Lifts Ponce to 1-0 Lead in SE
The Ponce Senores wasted no time taking the lead in the Serie Eliminatoria, beating the Culebra Tortugas at El Recóndito by the score of 8-3. The win gives Ponce a 1-0 lead in the best-of-5 series. Senores right-hander Simeón Elizondo threw 9.0 innings of 8-hit ball.

Ponce took advantage of an error in the top of the seventh inning. The game was tied, 3-3, when Tomás Ramírez hit a run-scoring single that was misplayed. It put the Senores in front, 4-3.

"We had a good game plan," Elizondo said, "and we were able to execute it."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at El Recóndito in Culebra.
