Locksmiths Upend Drawbridges, 8-3
At The Key Party, the Mystic Drawbridges and Stamford Locksmiths were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.

The Stamford Locksmiths topped the Mystic Drawbridges, 8-3, in Southern New England Association action at The Key Party. The game was highlighted by the performance of Stamford pitcher Mercuriano Mejía. Mejía, who is tied for 4th in the SNEA in quality starts with 21, went the distance for Stamford. He gave up 3 runs on 7 hits.

The Locksmiths got an important contribution from right fielder Prudencio Benavides, who in the bottom of the first hit a fastball to right for a 2-run home run. It was his 18th home run of the season and put the Locksmiths ahead, 3-0.

"I was just taking it batter by batter, just enjoying the moment," said Mejía.

After today's action, Stamford sits at 49-54, while Mystic falls to 36-67.
