Winchendon Gets 2-1 Win
|
The Winchendon Rocking Horses picked up a win at Madonna's Niche, knocking off the Cranston Madonnas, 2-1. Starting pitcher Rubén García was a big reason why. By defeating Cranston, the second-place Rocking Horses improved to 50-52.
Tied up with the Madonnas in the top of the fifth inning, the Rocking Horses got a boost from catcher Ruy Cintrón. With a runner on 2nd, Cintrón saw a 3-1 slider from Álvaro López and hit a run-scoring single to break the stalemate and put Winchendon on top, 2-1.
"It was just a matter of executing," said Winchendon manager Roberto Ortiz.
