Torres Throws 5-Hitter En Route to 3-1 Red Onions Win

Templeton and Newburyport took Mother Nature's best shot and still managed to complete their ballgame.
Templeton picked up a win at Innsmouth Park, bumping off the Newburyport Deep Ones, 3-1. Pitcher Silvio Torres was a major reason the Red Onions emerged victorious. Templeton currently is in first place in the Southern New England Association Massachusetts Circuit at 56-46.
Torres, the Templeton right-hander, went 9 innings, allowing 1 run on 5 hits. He collected 6 strikeouts.
"Once I cross that chalk line, I'm all business," said Torres.
